Fiddler on the Roof

These scenes were interesting to photograph. The emotion of the play is all in the dialog now, and it takes a wonderful actor to portray the sorrow that had superceded the earlier gaiety and dancing. I had to wait long periods at a time before I saw a shot that I thought would capture the wonderful depth of feeling.

Still... there were some light moments -- such as the Yenta spreading a rumor, and the "new arrival" at Tzeitzel and Model's house -- and since the dialog was paramount to carry the scene I added that as well ... or, at least as much as I remembered!

Oh!...and if you've been wondering why I've been sitting here chatting away with you at the top of each page -- besides visiting, of course! -- I've actually been keeping you occupied (entertained, I hope?) while the images load on the page. So that by the time you've finished listening to me (if you don't have a terribly slo-o-o-o-o-w machine, that is)... the photographs are there for you to enjoy!

Meet you at the next page!
